Provided is a mobile unit communication system wherein even when a mobile terminal device (user equipment (UE)) in an idle state is present, power consumption at a network node can be efficiently reduced. When the UE is in the idle state, a base station device (72) transmits at least a reference signal in a period in which a paging signal should be transmitted to the UE. Consequently, the UE can receive the reference signal, find the reception level of a signal transmitted from the base station device (72), and use the reception level to determine the presence or absence of the paging signal. |
