The device (1) has an electrically-insulating carrier component (2) i.e. glass plate, comprising an upper surface and a lower surface. An electrical wiring pattern (3) is applied on the upper surface for producing electrical field such that an animal is driven away based on electric shock during contact between the animal and the wiring pattern. The carrier component has an electrically non-conducting material layer and an undercoating. The wiring pattern has a tree section (4) with wiring branches (4a-4e), where the tree section is connected with a positive pole of a voltage supply source.
