The device (1) has rotatable arms (9, 11) for transferring forces between a surface area and the device when the arms contact a heavenly body, and the device is moved. The arms are rotated around 360 degree for variably controlling travel type of the device and motion sequence of the arms. The arms are laterally attached at housing (3) in a y-direction (7), where planes of rotation of the arms are arranged parallel to each other and spaced from each other. The planes of rotation extend in an x-z direction of the housing. Rotational axes (13) run in the y-direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving an exploration device.
