PURPOSE: A device for moving up and down a saw blade of a band sawing machine is provided to prevent chattering during a cutting process by repetitively ascending and descending a band saw by a saw supporting guide. CONSTITUTION: A device for moving up and down a saw blade of a band sawing machine comprises one or more guide rails(10), a slider block, an ascending and descending plate(30), and an ascending and descending member(40). The guide rail is installed in the front side of a cutting head(3) in a vertical direction. The slider block is installed on the guide rail and ascended and descended within a range of the guide rail. The ascending and descending plate are installed in the front side of the slider block. A pair of guide arms(6) is erectly installed in the front side of the ascending and descending plate. The ascending and descending member is installed on the top of the cutting head.
