A multipoint control unit of a video conference system and a video processing method thereof are disclosed by the present invention. The multipoint control unit of the video conference system includes: a video processing unit which includes multiple universal port units connected to multiple terminals of the video conference system through Ethernet interfaces, wherein each universal port unit is used to respectively decompress the compressed video data from one terminal of the video conference system, and to send the decompressed data to an Ethernet switch, and an Ethernet switch which is connected to multiple universal port units through Ethernet interfaces to form an inner Ethernet to receive the decompressed data sent by the multiple universal port units.
