Disclosed are a playback control system and playback control method using terminal equipment, which control, using separate terminal equipment having a communication interface, the playback operation of a playback apparatus for playing multimedia content, and further provide various interactive services and additional services using terminal equipment, thereby overcoming the limitations in use of general television remote controllers for controlling playback apparatuses, providing an optimum control service, and preventing interruptions due to interactive services and additional services being displayed by the playback apparatuses while content is being viewed. |
