A method of processing acoustic waves emitted at the outlet of a turbo engine (1) of an aircraft, the aircraft comprising a dielectric-barrier discharge device (4), in which method said device (4) is activated so as to emit an electric wind in the direction of the acoustic waves in such a way as to attenuate them. The invention also relates to an aircraft comprising such a dielectric-barrier discharge device (4).
