PURPOSE: A needle assembly and a high frequency thermotherapy apparatus are provided to efficiently remove a lesion region including cancer tissue. CONSTITUTION: A needle assembly comprises: a body unit(26); and a needle(25) which is connected to the body unit and is equipped with a tip-end part(30) in which the end is pointedly formed. At least one of the body unit and tip-end unit is formed of a groove for expanding a contact area with a lesion region in the outer circumference thereof. The groove is formed in a helix type or a consecutive diamond type.
