Disclosed is an air conditioner which can keep post-startup overshoot low while rapidly securing full startup performance. The air conditioner (1) uses a refrigeration cycle having a compressor (21) and coolant tubing (F) structured with a magnetic tube (F2) around the periphery, and is provided with a coil (68), a pressure sensor (29a), and a controller (11). The coil (68) generates a magnetic field to inductively heat the magnetic tube (F2). The pressure sensor (29a) detects coolant pressure for a high pressure side which is at least one part of the refrigeration cycle. When the refrigeration cycle is implementing a heating operation, the controller (11) causes the generation of the magnetic field by the coil (68) to occur at a state of maximum electrical power supply (Mmax), from the time the frequency of the compressor (21) rises to at least a predetermined minimum frequency (Qmin) until the pressure detected by the pressure sensor (29a) reaches a target high pressure. From the point in time the target high pressure is reached, the controller (11) operates with a restraint applied wherein a steady electrical power supply (M2) which is lower than the maximum electrical power supply (Mmax) is an upper limit to output. |
