Provided are a lithium ion secondary battery (non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery) (100) provided with a wounded electrode body (120) around which a positive plate (121) including a positive electrode collector foil (122) and a positive electrode active material layer (123) and a negative plate (131) including a negative electrode collector foil (132) and a negative electrode active material layer (133) are wound through a separator (141), a vehicle, and a battery-use apparatus. In the lithium ion secondary battery, the wounded electrode body (120) is formed on the positive plate (121) on the inner side in a spreading direction of the positive plate (121) as compared to an outer periphery (123f) of the positive electrode active material layer (123), and the lithium ion secondary battery has a positive depressed area (121h) which is formed by thinning the positive electrode active material layer (123) or by exposing the positive electrode collector foil (122) without the positive electrode active material layer (123).
