The endoprosthesis (10) has a proximal part (12) and a distal part (16), which defines a longitudinal axis (20). The proximal and distal parts are transferred from a locked position, in which the parts are locked together at angle positions against rotation around the axis, into an unlocked position by relative movement in an axial direction. The parts are rotated relative to each other around the axis. A coupling element acts in the axial direction, and is gripped at the proximal and distal parts, so that the proximal part is held at the distal part in the unlocked position.
