The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a gold core/insulator shell nanostructure and to a novel peptide used for same. The manufacturing method of the present invention is a biomimetic synthesis method using a silica-synthetic peptide having a high affinity for a gold surface, thus making it possible to manufacture a gold core/insulator shell nanostructure very effectively in an environmentally friendly manner.
