OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

Disclosed is an optical fiber cable which includes a slot core (11) with two slot grooves (12a, 12b) provided therein to accommodate optical fiber cores (optical fiber communication lines) (13a, 13b); a sheath (14) for covering the periphery of the slot core; and two tension-resistant components (15) embedded inside the slot core. The two tension-resistant components (15) are disposed on the Y-axis that passes through the center of the cable (O), and the slot grooves (12a, 12b) are located on the Y-axis so as to sandwich the tension-resistant components (15) therebetween. The two slot grooves are formed as a straight groove that extends in a straight line in the longitudinal direction of the cable. One of the slot grooves (12a) and the other slot groove (12b) accommodate, for example, the optical fiber cores (13a, 13b) of different colors, respectively.
