Mowing fiber (1) comprises a plastic (4) filled with plate shaped particles (3). The mowing thread is stretched in such a way that the plate shaped particles are oriented at least predominantly in the direction of longitudinal axis (5) of the mowing thread. An independent claim is also included for producing mowing fiber, comprising (a) filling the plastic with plate shaped particles, (b) extruding the filled plastic in the form of a fiber blank, (c) stretching the fiber blank in solidified state in the direction of its longitudinal axis under plastic deformation, in such a way that the embedded particles orient at least predominantly in the direction of the longitudinal axis. |
