[Class 4] A drive for auxiliaries on aircraft comprises a main gear-box provided with at least one auxiliary gear-box detachably mounted thereon and incorporating a number of power take-off points. As shown, a main gear-box 41 has a main driving shaft 2e and power take-offs 40f, 56a, 56b, and in addition an auxiliary gear-box 61 with four take-off points 62, 63, 64, 65. The ends of the power shafts or pinions are supported in bearings in the sides of the gearboxes and are splined internally for engagement with the auxiliary transmission shafts. The power take-offs may incorporate universal joints as described in Specification 652,407,
