<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval service method allowing a user to input a search keyword by sound and to surely acquire desired information. <P>SOLUTION: In this information retrieval service method, an individual identification information acquisition step, a conversation step, a voice recognition step, and a retrieval step are carried out. In the individual identification information acquisition step, a computer system connected to a communication line and provided with a search server, which inquires a database accumulating many records for a search keyword to extract a corresponding record, and a telephone conversation function allowing automatic voice response by synthesized voice acquires individual identification information B about a terminal A by calling a predetermined telephone number via the telephone function. In the conversation step, connection with a terminal A is established via a line for starting automatic voice response conversation. In the voice recognition step, the search keyword received during the conversation with the terminal A is recognized by voice and the search keyword is translated into text.
