PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for coating an adhesive is provided to prevent the reduction of welding strength due to the adhesive and to prevent the degradation of operational environments due to the combustion of the adhesive in case of a welding process. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for coating an adhesive includes a robot and a controller. A coating gun(12) is mounted at the robot and coats the adhesive by being moved along the bonding part of a panel(1). The controller controls the operations of the robot and the coating gun. The controller controls the robot based on the moving speed information of the coating gun and the moving orbit information of the coating gun and verifies the current position of the coating gun in real time.
