<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging device for an in-line four cylinder engine, which increases engine torque at low engine speed zone even in a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This supercharging device for the in-line four cylinder engine 1 includes: an exhaust manifold 16; a collecting part 3c collecting exhaust gas passages of all cylinders 3; and an exhaust gas turbocharger 50 on a downstream side thereof. In the exhaust manifold 16, a first exhaust gas passage 16a of a first cylinder 3a, a fourth exhaust gas passage 16d of a fourth cylinder 3d, and an auxiliary collecting exhaust gas passage 16bc collected from a second cylinder 3b and a third cylinder 3c are independently formed and arranged in parallel. The device includes: a variable exhaust valve 30 varying each passage section area of the three independent exhaust passages; and a variable exhaust valve control means 20 controlling drive of the variable exhaust valve 30. The variable exhaust valve control means 20 executes independent exhaust gas throttling control for reducing each passage section area from the maximum area in the low speed zone A3 in a supercharging zone. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
