摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems associated with: a so-called array light source utilizing LDs, LEDs and so on aligned in an array shape, which is not suited for desired usage due to problems of heating on light emission, of difficulty in pitch narrowing and so on; a proposed array shaped light source utilizing a line defect waveguide of a two-dimensional photonic crystal, of which the proposal has not mentioned on/off control of light; and an array shaped light source utilizing a one-dimensional photonic crystal using a parallel luminous flux, of which the luminance flux diverges when a light propagation route gets longer, and light extraction efficiency is lowered. SOLUTION: When the luminous flux L is made incident on a light guide body 1, it is converged toward a defect layer 3 which is arranged in a multilayer film 2 composed of the one-dimensional photonic crystal and which conducts ON/OFF control, for example, owing to a local structure 1a composed of a concave mirror. When the defect layer 3 is in the OFF state, the luminous flux is reflected on the multilayer film 2, turns into the diverged luminous flux, enters into the adjacent concave mirror, further reflected thereon, and converged toward the adjacent defect layer 3.
