A mandrel or coil-tube chunk for a roll feeder (40 fig. 4) has at least one colleting device 10, 20, 30 with a base 11, 21, 31 and a cylindrical member or chunk 12, 22, 32 mounted securely on the base 11, 21, 31and having a guiding face 122, 222, 322, multiple grooves 123, 223, 323 and multiple engaging teeth 124, 224, 324 both formed at intervals in the external surface and the guiding face of the chunk 12, 22, 32. The base 11, 21, 31 of each colleting device 10, 20, 30 includes a number of sharp teeth 1131, 2131, 3131 for engaging the end of a roll (43 fig. 4). The colleting devices 10, 20, 30 are concentric and allow the mandrel to be used with rolls (42 fig. 4) of different internal diameters. The sharp teeth 1131, 2131, 3131 may be in the form of conical tips on rods (113, 213, 313 fig. 2) screwed into holes in the base 11, 21, 31. |
