The invention relates to peptides derived from antibodies with reactivity against a GPI linkage epitope and functionally-equivalent ligands. The peptides can be used in the therapy and diagnosis of a variety of diseases, caused by inappropriate presence of autoantibodies which are reactive with GPI linkage epitopes. The mode of action of the autoantibodies, causing disease, and a method of prevention of the disease and detection of the autoantibody are also provided. |
