摘要 The invention herewith described refers to the mechanical lock with coded key for blocking the shaft of the steering wheel and prevention of the motor vehicle theft which is, according to the invention, so mounted that on the housing (15) of the steering system that comprises the shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering wheel, there is welded a clevis shaped holder (16) to which the lock assembly is welded by its lower surface. In the shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering wheel it is necessary to make a transverse hole with the same diameter as is the diameter of the wedge (1) and with appropriate clearance into which enters the lower part of the wedge (1) when locking the vehicle. The proposed lock consists of the standard lock with coded central core (13), which is locked and unlocked with a coded key (K) when inserted into cylinder (12) of the lock located in the housing (3) and inserted into the steel body (5) connected with the holder (6) of the housing (15) where the safety screw (11) is screwed in. Through the housing (3) and the body (5) there is made a vertical opening for inserting the cylindrical steel wedge (1) with the ball fixed with thread on the upper end of the driver’s handle. On the bottom of the housing (3) there is the runner (9) of the slide for locking and along which by turning the key (K), moves the slide (4) of the wedge locker which at the locking of the vehicle enters the narrowed groove on the wedge (1) and thus prevents unwelcome extraction of the wedge (1). Between the slide (4) and the slide runner (9) there is mounted a spring (10) for ejection of the wedge (1) after unlocking in the cases when the lock is fixed from the upper end (14) of the shaft or laterally. When the lock is fixed from the lower end, the spring (10) is not mounted because the wedge (1) is ejected due to its weight. The housing (3) of the lock is closed with a decorative cover (2).By inserting the key (K) into the cylinder (12) opening and by its rotating, the wedge (1) enters the opening on the shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering wheel and then the locking and preventing the rotation of shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering wheel are performed, after which the key (K) is pulled out from the lock. Unlocking the lock is performed by inserting the key (K) into the cylinder lock (12) opening. By turning the key to the right, the lock mechanism is released and the wedge (1) ejects from the hole on the shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering wheel and from the lock and releases the shaft (14) of the vehicle’s steering system and after that the key (K) is removed from the lock.
