The device has parts (1,2) which are complementary to each other and have formations at its sides that face one another, where the formations are complementary to each other. A clamping element (3) is assigned to the former part, which sits in a clamping element-seat at the former part. Another clamping element (4) is assigned to the latter part, which sits in another clamping element-seat at the latter part. The parts have aluminum, aluminum alloy or a polymer material. An independent claim is also included for a modular fence element with a frame.
