Disclosed is a herbicidal composition which comprises (1) a herbicidal sulfonylurea compound or its salt selected from flazasulfuron, foramsulfuron, halosulfuronmethyl, iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium, nicosulfuron, prosulfuron, rimsulfuron, trifloxysulfuron-sodium or tritosulfuron; and (2) a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether phosphate or its salt; wherein the mix ratio of (1) the herbicidal sulfonylurea compound or its salt to (2) the polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether phosphate or its salt is from 13:1 to 1:10,000 by weight ratio. Further disclosed is a method for controlling undesired plants or inhibiting their growth, which comprises applying to the undesired plants or to a place where they grow a composition as defined above.
