<p>Disclosed are benzothiazole or pyridothiazole compounds, represented by general formula (I), or salts, hydrates, solvates or N-oxides thereof. Also disclosed is the use of the compound of general formula (I) in the preparation of an antibacterial composition. Methods of making the compounds of formula (I) are also disclosed.</p>
