<p>The disclosed mobile communication system comprises an area information management server and a mobile terminal that has a movement prediction information generation means, a communication execution plan proposal means, a hold instruction means, and a communication means. The area information management server transmits the following to the mobile terminal: area information that indicates areas around the location of the mobile terminal in which communication is possible; and no-service information that indicates locations that have no service. The movement prediction information generation means generates movement rate information and movement prediction information for the mobile terminal. Using the movement prediction information and received area information and no-service information, the communication execution plan proposal means proposes a communication execution plan that indicates: a communication period during which the mobile terminal communicates with a base station; and a suspension period during which communication is suspended, said suspension period including a period during which the mobile terminal has no service. At the beginning and end of the suspension period, the hold instruction means issues instructions to hold and resume communication between the mobile terminal and a communication partner. The communication means performs communication with the base station in accordance with the communication execution plan.</p> |
