PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stereoscopically view an object to be observed from a desired visual point direction.SOLUTION: An image obtaining part 211 obtains a pair of right and left observation images photographed by the imaging elements 161L and 161R arranged on the right and left eye optical paths of a stereomicroscope for enlarging and observing the object to be observed and an image producing part 212 produces the three-dimensional model of the object to be observed, based on the pair of right and left observation images obtained by the image obtaining part 211. The image producing part 212 produces images for right and left eyes being two-dimensional images for right and left eyes when the three-dimensional model is viewed from a plurality of visual points set by a visual point setting part 213 according to the operation for an input device 202 of an observer. An image output part 214 outputs the produced images for right and left eyes to a glasses-free stereoscopic-vision display device 204, to display them. The invention can be applied to an image processing apparatus for image-processing the observation images obtained from the stereomicroscope, for instance. |
