In order to prevent unneeded disconnection of communication resulting from a suspend operation and to increase the convenience and comfortableness of an application operation, the disclosed communication terminal (100) is provided with: an application control unit (103) that controls the execution of an application (106); a communication control unit (104) that controls a communication unit (105), establishing communication with a communication network (N); and a suspension control unit (102) that, when a terminal action is detected that becomes the cause of the application being suspended, transmits to the application control unit (103) a suspend command that causes the running application to suspend. The communication terminal (100) can select a keep-alive state wherein, in response to the detected terminal action, the suspension control unit (102) transmits the suspend command to the application control unit (103) without disconnecting the communication connection of the communication unit (105) with the communication network (N). |
