The tool (1) has a support structure (2) supported at workpiece spindles (7a, 7b) for workpieces (8a, 8b). A backstop (10) is movably parallel to axles (SPA) of the workpiece spindle. The workpiece spindle is pushed by the backstop spindle (12). A backstop drive (12) is supported at a mounting structure (5).The support structure and the mounting structure are directly or indirectly attached or formed at a machine bed (6), where the support structure and the mounting structure are opposite to each other. A tie rod (13) interconnects the mounting structure and the support structure. The mounting structure is provided with a metal plate.
