PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit for preventing waving or the like in a group of optical sheets caused by heat generation of a linear light source as much as possible.SOLUTION: A light guide plate 36, a diffusion sheet 38, namely an optical sheet, a prism sheet 40, and a polarization sheet 42 are stored in a square casing 12 from a casing bottom 24 in this order, and an LED array unit, namely the linear light source, is installed along a longitudinal direction of a side face on at least one side face of the light guide plate 36. The backlight unit includes a front frame 78 locked to a flange part 14, namely a periphery of the casing 12. The front frame 78 slidably holds the peripheries of the optical sheets 38, 40, 42 between itself and the light guide plate 36. |
