PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: in the image forming apparatus configured to collect toner in a collection container, in the configuration that the toner is compressed and solidified in a conveying path in order to enhance the storage efficiency of the collection container, excessive loads are applied to a movable conveying member and a rotating mechanism for the movable conveying member, further, the toner is discharged with difficulty or unstably.SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a barrier for interrupting the movement of the toner is disposed in the conveying path 9 guiding the toner, and a discharge port 101 is disposed in the barrier. Besides, a toner accumulation area for temporarily accumulating the toner is formed between the barrier and the end of the movable conveying member that pushes and conveys the toner. Accordingly, the toner temporarily accumulated in the toner accumulation area is compressed with the pressure from the movable conveying member and the barrier, thereafter, is discharged as the toner powder aggregation through the discharge port, then, collected in the collection container. |
