PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently set boundary positions with an object model on a fluid model.SOLUTION: A method for determining boundary positions in a fluid simulation which, in performing a fluid simulation for analyzing at least the flow of a fluid using an object model representing a three-dimensional solid by a finite number of elements and a fluid model delimiting a space where the fluid flows, defines boundary positions between the fluid model and the object model on the fluid model includes the steps of: inputting the object model into a computer with the use of elements each formed by a plane; inputting the fluid model with the use of many grid points for fluid analysis in a three-dimensional space; defining a plurality of straight lines passing the grid points in the fluid model; computing and storing intersecting points of the straight lines with the surface of the object model; and determining all the grid points of the fluid model in a solid region or a fluid region according to the intersecting points obtained in the previous step. |
