PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent protein with a wavelength of maximum fluorescent emission which changes depending on pH and in specific pH ranges, and a method by which cell functions are measured with high accuracy using the fluorescent protein.SOLUTION: The fluorescent protein is derived from an organism belonging to Phylum Cnidaria, Class Anthozoa, Order Pennatulacea, Family Veretillidae and has a wavelength of maximum fluorescent emission which changes depending on pH. The change occurs in range between pH 4 and pH 11. Moreover, a method for measuring pH in cells using the fluorescent protein is presented. |
