PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader including a first image reading unit for reading one side image of an original document conveyed along a conveying route and outputting an analog read signal corresponding to the read image and a second image reading unit for reading the other side image of the original document conveyed along the conveying route and outputting an analog read signal corresponding to the read image, wherein an analog front end unit for applying A-D conversion to the read signals from the respective image reading units is used with good balance to improve an A-D conversion speed of the read signals.SOLUTION: Read signals AO1_FS, AO2_FS from the CIS 230 (first image reading unit) for a front surface of 3-channel are inputted into terminals AI1_1, AI1_2 of a first AFE 380, the read signal AO3_FS from the CIS 230 is inputted into a terminal AI2_1 of a second AFE 390, and the read signal AO_BS from a CIS 210 (second image reading unit) for a rear surface of 1-channel is inputted into a terminal AI2_2 of the second AFE 390, respectively. |
