PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc welding method by which arc interruption is detectable more appropriately.SOLUTION: The arc welding method comprises: a first step (T1) in which droplets are transferred by generating arc between base metal and a consumable electrode which is held by a welding torch; and a second step (T2) in which a molten pool formed on the base metal is cooled while generating the arc between the base metal and the consumable electrode, and the welding torch is moved, the first step and the second step being repeated alternately. In the first step (T1), the measurement of an arc interruption detection time Tao is started when the absolute value of a voltage between the base metal and the consumable electrode or the absolute value of an electric current which flows between both of them deviates from a preset range and, when the arc interruption detection time Tao becomes not less than the predetermined reference time Tstp by the time when the step transitions to the second step (T2), the abnormal welding is determined. |
