PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception device and method combining a guard interval without being influenced by a multipath, with a valid symbol, and reducing the circuit scale thereof.SOLUTION: This reception device is configured such that: a broadcast signal having a zone of a valid symbol including a broadcast content and a zone of a guard interval obtained by duplicating a part of the valid symbol is received; a signal level of the zone of the guard interval is subtracted from a signal level of the zone of the valid symbol used as a duplication source of the guard interval in the received broadcast signal; and the zone of the guard interval where a value based on the subtraction result is set below a predetermined threshold is determined as a zone of the guard interval to be combined with the valid symbol. |
