PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can detect a toner empty state, in which toner with which a developing device is to be replenished is not left, with higher accuracy and at exact timing.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: the developing device 2; a toner replenishment device 22 for replenishing the developing device 2 with toner; and a toner empty state detector 130 having a toner replenishment detection sensor 119 for detecting whether or not the developing device 2 has been replenished with toner and detecting absence of toner in the toner replenishment device 22. In the image forming apparatus 100, the toner empty state detector 130 sets a toner empty state determination threshold used as a reference for determining toner empty state based on the output result of the toner supply detection sensor 119, and changes the toner empty state determination threshold. |
