PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-cycle engine improving the output power while inhibiting blow-by to inhibit deterioration of exhaust gas characteristic values and suitable for a portable engine working machine.SOLUTION: The two-cycle engine includes: an exhaust opening 16, a first scavenging opening 17, a second scavenging opening 18, which are provided in the inner peripheral wall 15 of a cylinder bore 14; a first scavenging passage, and a second scavenging passage, which extend in a direction of the axis 4 of the cylinder bore 14 and connect the first scavenging opening 17 and the second scavenging opening 18 to a crank chamber; and outflow direction changing unit 49, 54 provided in the first scavenging passage and the second scavenging passage for changing an outflow direction in which an air-fuel mixture flows out from top dead center sides of the first scavenging opening 17 and the second scavenging opening 18 into the cylinder bore 14, from an outflow direction in which the air-fuel mixture flows out from bottom dead center sides of the first scavenging opening 17 and the second scavenging opening 18 into the cylinder bore 14, as viewed in the direction of the axis 4 of the cylinder bore 14. |
