PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device with a pillar cover quickly covering a front surface of a front pillar in the early stage of the expansion of an airbag.SOLUTION: The airbag device includes the airbag 50 having the pillar cover 53 covering the front surface 1a of the front pillar 1, and a supporting expansion portion 55 supporting the outer-cabin side lower portion of the pillar cover 53. A tether 74 extends from an inner edge 53c of the pillar cover 53, and passes through the reverse surface side of a bag body 51. The tip of the tether is connected to a storage portion. The width dimension of a partitioning portion 65 partitioned into the supporting expansion portion 55 and the pillar cover 53, and the length dimension of the tether 74 are set at a dimension making the pillar cover 53 come into contact with the front pillar 1 with an almost circular shaped external form maintained, and come into point contact with near an upper edge 55c of the supporting expansion portion 55 continuing from the partitioning portion 65 with a gap H between the pillar cover and the partitioning portion 65 in the right-and-left directional cross section along the vertical direction. |
