PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure a charging amount which reduces deterioration of a battery under parking even if a battery temperature rises owing to an atmospheric temperature rise after parking.SOLUTION: A battery charge controller has: a means for measuring the temperature and charging amount of a battery; a means for measuring the outdoor air temperature; a means for estimating an predicted outdoor air temperature after parking; a means for predicting the battery temperature after parking while driving based on the battery temperature, the outdoor air temperature, and the predicted outdoor air temperature after parking; and a means for setting the upper and lower limits of the charging amount of a battery based on the predicted battery temperature after parking. The problem is solved by starting the charging of a battery when the charging amount of a battery reaches the lower limit value of the charging amount and ending the charging of a battery when the charging amount of a battery reaches the upper limit value of the charging amount.
