<p>In the OpenFlow system, the disclosed switch and flow table control method make it possible to recognize the flows which are successfully registered in a flow table and flows which are not successfully registered. Specifically, a controller sends and receives OpenFlow messages to and from a switch. The switch is provided with a flow table which manages flows registered from the controller, a flow table read unit which searches the flow table and reads out relevant information, a flow table control unit which appends, deletes and modifies flow entries, and a platform functionality management unit which, in response to queries from the flow table control unit, determines whether a flow entry in question is valid or invalid. The flow table includes a regular flow table and an irregular flow table. Valid flow entries, which match configuration information stored by the switch, are registered in the regular flow table. Invalid flow entries, which do not match configuration information stored by the switch, are registered in the irregular flow table.</p> |
