PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a magnet, capable of obtaining a magnet having high degree of orientation by fully improving the dispersability of a slurry at molding the slurry.SOLUTION: A rare-earth magnet manufacturing apparatus 21 generates a slurry 50, formed by mixing a pulverized magnetic powder and a solvent containing an organic metal compound represented by M-(OR)(wherein M contains at least one kind from among Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb, V, Mo, Zr, Ta, Ti, W and Nb, R is any one of 2-6C alkyl groups and may be a straight chain or a branched chain, and x is an arbitrary integer), and after that, a pressure is applied to the slurry 50 injected into a cavity, in a state a magnetic field is applied to mold the slurry 50 in a molding machine 24, and then the organic solvent is evaporated to obtain a molded body. Subsequently, the molded body is maintained for several hours at 200-900°C in a hydrogen atmosphere to execute temporary baking processing in hydrogen. Subsequently, the molded body is baked at 800-1,180°C, thereby a permanent magnet 1 is manufactured. |
