PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress image quality degradation when performing IP conversion and scaling processing.SOLUTION: An IP conversion scaling part 121 IP converts input interlaced SD images to progressive SD images based on a specified method, and then converts the SD images to HD middle images. Based on a motion vector V, an MC block differential value BD and the positional relationship L between input image pixels and middle image pixels, a cyclic coefficient setting part 133 sets a cyclic coefficient K for every pixel. A product sum operation part 135 composites the middle image and a motion compensation image at a rate that is indicated by the cyclic coefficient K, and generates output images that are progressive HD images. This method can apply to image converters which perform IP conversion and scaling processing. |
