PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely measure a groove width of a seam part (seam fastened part) of a metal roof 8.SOLUTION: A groove width gauge includes: a measurement main board 1; a pressed part 2 supporting a back datum line 81a of a seam part 81 of a metal roof 8; and a pressing bar part 31 having a gap corresponding to the normal width of the groove width of a groove part 81c point of the seam part 81 of the metal roof 8 at a prescribed height position and having resilience so that it retracts when the normal value is exceeded. The pressed part 2 and the pressing bar part 31 are provided below the measurement main board 1. An alarm means X is provided so that an alarm signal is detected when the groove width exceeds the normal value during measurement.
