PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymerized aromatic polyester causing few defects called flyspecks generated in the vicinity of foreign matter which is contained when the polyester is formed into a film and the like, and to provide a biaxially oriented film obtained using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided a copolymerized aromatic polyester including ≥5 mol% and <80 mol% 6,6'-(alkylene dioxy)di-2-naphthoic acid component (ANA component), another aromatic dicarboxylic acid component, and an alkylene glycol component, in which the content of a compound A-derived component represented by the formula: R-O(O)C-R-ORO-R-C(O)ORO-R-C(O)OR(wherein Rrepresents a 1-10C alkylene group, Rrepresents a 2,6-naphthalene diyl group, and Rrepresents a 1-4C alkyl group) is 0.2 mass% or less on the basis of the mass of the ANA component, and the content of alkali metal is 50 ppm or less, and a biaxially oriented film formed from the copolymerized aromatic polyester. |
