PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device which has further improved light extraction efficiency and can achieve a longer service life.SOLUTION: The light emitting device, has: a light emitting element 11; a metal member 12 having an element mounting portion 12a on which the light emitting element 11 is mounted, and a flat portion 12d disposed around the periphery of the element mounting portion 12a; and a translucent sealing member 14 that seals the light emitting element 11 and a part of the metal member 12, the sealing member 14 has a body portion 14c that seals the light emitting element 11 and the metal member 12, a convex portion 14a disposed on the body portion 14c, and a flange portion 14b disposed around the periphery of the body portion 14c, the flange portion 14b is disposed outside the range illuminated by light emitted from the light emitting element 11, and the flat portion 12d of the metal member 12 is bent toward the bottom face side of the light emitting device 10 at least within the flange portion 14b. |
