PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap caulking apparatus which caulks a cap capped on the distal end of a long member such as an optical fiber cable, caulks the cap uniformly over the whole circumference, accurately controls the amount of caulking and has secured durability.SOLUTION: The cap caulking apparatus includes: first and second ring-shaped members 1, 2 which are made rotatable centered on a cylindrical member 205; a plurality of caulking members 3, 3, 3 which are attached to the first ring-shaped member 1 and are advanceable/retractable with respect to the center part; rotationally operating means 7, 8 which rotationally operates ring-shaped member 1, 2 respectively at respective predetermined rotational speed; and a moving mechanism 9 which moves each caulking member 3, 3, 3 toward the center part in accordance with rotational angle difference of each ring-shaped member 1, 2. By rotationally operating each ring-shaped member 1, 2 at rotational speeds different from each other and causing each caulking member 3, 3, 3 to pressurize and deform the outer peripheral part of the cap 204 capped on the distal end of the cylindrical member 205, the cap is fixed by caulking. |
