PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease scattering of liquid sticking on a wiper when the wiper is completely separated from a liquid jetting face.SOLUTION: In a printer 1, by relatively moving the wiper 60 in the wiping direction with respect to an ink jetting surface 36, the tip 60a of the wiper 60 is brought into contact with the ink jetting surface 36 while it is bent, to wipe the ink stuck on the ink jetting surface 36. Then, the wiper 60 wiped the ink jetting surface 36 is stopped when the tip 60a is brought into contact with the bottom face 52 of a channel 55. In this case, the tip 60a of the wiper 60 is brought into contact with the bottom face 52 of the channel 55 so that the bending is smaller than a case when brought into contact with the ink jetting surface 36 and is not completely restored. Thereafter, under a condition that the tip 60a of the wiper 60 enters into the channel 55, the wiper 60 is relatively moved in the opposite direction of the wiping direction to the ink jetting surface 36, and simultaneously, it is moved downward from the ink jetting surface 36 and is brought into contact with and is separated from the ink jetting surface 36. |
