The method involves dividing a mold (2) into two mold regions (2.1, 2.2) by a wall element (5), and partially filling the mold regions with bulk materials of different particle sizes (d1, d2). The bulk materials accommodated in the mold undergo a compaction process, where the bulk materials contain porous or non-porous particles (3, 4) of adsorbing materials e.g. activated charcoal. The wall element is removed from the mold before or during the compaction process. The bulk materials are coated with a bonding agent e.g. high molecular low pressure polyethylene. An independent claim is also included for a filter body comprising two filter layers.
