PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device capable of surely receiving information from an access point with optimum power consumption and an access point search control method thereof.SOLUTION: The radio communication device (11) capable of performing radio communication with each access point in a radio communication system having a plurality of access points (AP) has: a counting part (14) for counting the number of access points existing around by receiving beacons in which access points are respectively transmitted in passive scanning; and a probe response waiting time control part (15) for determining the entire probe response waiting times (T) of active scanning by using the number of access points (C) and a predetermined single probe response waiting time (Tapr).
